At the coming of the Noldor many of the Grey-elves lived in Nevrast near to the coasts, and especially about Mount Taras in the south-west; for to that place Ulmo and Ossë had been wont to come in days of old. All that people took Turgon for their lord, and the mingling of the Noldor and the Sindar came to pass soonest there; and Turgon dwelt long in those halls that he named Vinyamar, under Mount Taras beside the sea.

But Turgon remembered the city set upon a hill, Tirion the fair with it's tower and tree...and by the guidance of Ulmo he discovered the hidden vale of Tumladen in the Encircling Mountains, in the midst of which there was a hill of stone.

Tis said and ’tis sung: Gondobar am I called and Gondothlimbar, City of Stone and City of the Dwellers in Stone; Gondolin the Stone of Song and Gwarestrin am I named, the Tower of the Guard, Gar Thurion or the Secret Place, for I am hidden from the eyes of Melko; but they who love me most greatly call me Loth, for like a flower am I, even Lothengriol the flower that blooms on the plain

Character Name: Turukano "Turgon" Nolofinweon
Canon: JRR Tolkien's The Silmarillion/The Fall of Gondolin
God House: Mimir
God Power:

Hugging: Sure - he will be very confused at you though
Kissing: Sure - again, he will be very confused
Flirting: Feel free - he's a widower who never got over his wife though (and a bit emotionally dim)
Fighting: Sure, ask first - he is a warrior king, though, he's not going to be a pushover
Injuring: Sure, ask first
Killing: Ask first, we can negotiate
Telepathy: He is from a canon where elves can speak mind to mind - please ask! He will have considerable mental defences, in all likelihood
Mind/Body Control: Ask first
Warnings: His backstory involves crossing essentially antartica on foot and loosing his wife to drowning at some point, also lots of death and killing. Most of these can be worked around as he does not LIKE to talk about them and is unlikely to, but let me know if you would prefer it not to come up.

IC INFO;
Character Name: Turukano "Turgon" Nolofinweon
Canon: Tolkien's The Silmarillion/The Fall of Gondolin
Canon Information: wiki link here
Canon Point: First Age 504 - the Birth of Earendil, his grandson
Age: ~2304 give or take (converting Tree Years into Sun Years involves decimals I rounded down)
God Houses:
Mimir - Mimir is a god of careful thought and planning, and his yearning for knowledge is quiet but powerful - Turgon is cautious, more like to stand back and watch before making a move, and reluctant to shift from a position of safety without very very good reason (on one particularly memorable occasion to his very deadly detriment). Unlike his more precipitous kin, he's the planner, the city builder, and if Arda has chess, he'd probably be the one to beat. Well. Him or Maedhros, probably.
Odin - Odin takes what is both seen and unseen to devise a solution of his own. This is his role as the King of Asgard, as the King of Gods, as the Allfather: to use everything at his disposal and divine the clearest path forward for all life - Turgon was not born to be a king - second son of a second son in a deathless society - but he was born to lead - to look for the safety and security of his people first. Despite being outcast and exile, he took the dream of safety granted him by the Lord of the Waters and from it founded a city that was an image of the home they left behind to keep his people safe.
Njord - Njord observes the world from a place of objective distance, closely guarding that which he deems to be proprietary - On Gondolin's founding, her gates were shut, and for 394 years, no one who entered through her gates was allowed to leave saving only thrice in that entire time. Such was Turgon's ruling, to preserve safety by secrecy. Not even his father, his High King, nor his dearest friend, Finrod, nor his elder brother knew where Gondolin lay, and no word came accept rarely. In the great alliance of Maedhros, they did not even know if word had reached Gondolin, let alone if Turgon would consent to open the leaguer and come forth to aid them until he actually arrived.

Personality: For one nicknamed "The Wise" Turgon demonstrates both great wisdom... but also episodes of incredible short-sightedness. But let's begin at the beginning. Turgon is the second son of the second son of the High King of the Noldor. As a prince, he is raised to lead (although he probably did not actually expect to RULE, being quite far down the ladder of succession), but like all the Noldor, he is also raised to work with his hands. Considering he built a hidden city, he probably was mainly interested in stonework and architecture - something that suggests a logical mind with a perfectionist bent and a fondness for fine detail. He is presumably fairly devout (insomuch as such things matter in Middle-earth) as he was one of two who were contacted directly by one of the Valar (despite there being a blanket Doom laid on all the Noldor that no prayer of theirs would cross the mountains back to Valinor) and told where to build his hidden city, which he promptly did. Unlike Finrod, the other with the same dream, he took the instructions to make the city secret VERY seriously. Enough that he told no one where he was going, and he let (almost) no one out.

He is an inspiring leader, able to command substantial loyalty, and convince people to leave and to enforce a policy of absolute secrecy - no one in or out of Gondolin, no letters, no messengers (excepting when one could bribe the Great Eagles to carry a letter, presumably). He also holds a grudge for a long, long, time - during the great battle where all the Noldor united to fight... Turgon did not come. Because it was at least in part instigated by Maedhros, the leader of the Feanorians... who Turgon blamed for the death of his wife almost 500 years earlier (note that MAEDHROS HIMSELF was possibly the least responsible for this, but Turgon cast the blame on him anyway because he was the eldest). He is also loyal to his family, because at the last minute, unlooked for, he did actually come, because his brother was leading the charge. He is prone to blind spots concerning his family - refusing to listen to his son-in-law's warnings to evacuate the city, because his nephew said it was foolish. His nephew, who ended up betraying the whole city, and who had the hots for said son-in-laws wife...his niece. His reason for why? Pride. He is, after all, a prince and a king.

CHARACTER
Name: First, Last (Western order) Turukáno "Turgon" Nolofinwion
Canon: Tolkien
Age: jussssssst under 20,000 years old approximately
Timeline: The Building of Gondolin, somewhere between Year 126-151 of the First Age of the World.

Items with character at canon point: A longsword, a mithril circlet, a stonemasons hammer and chisel
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: Fortunately Turgon absolutely despises Maglor, and Maglor knows this, so they will avoid each other nicely. Erestor does have reason to meet Turgon, but he doesn't know him, nor have much to do with him beyond the fact that he's Ecthelion & Glorfindel's king.

Background: wiki link here

Abilities:
racial abilities:
(1) functionally immortal - as in, don't die of age, and not, can't be killed
(2) Elves are faster, stronger and hardier than Men, and they heal faster too. This is not 100% proof, as canon has at least one instance where a Man could bear armor that an Elf could not. Also this means they can survive on surprisingly little food & water for a surprisingly long time!
(3) Elves have unusually good eyesight and hearing - this is pretty variable, but generally an Elf can see further & hear more than a typical human
(4) Elves like talking to things - all the things - and it is strongly implied that they get some sort of answer, although I imagine it isn't speech that they get in return but... impressions maybe. Again, who hears what will depend on the Elf in question - I would guess Turgon does, in fact, talk to rocks.
(5) Elves glow - basically they have shiny souls (YES I KNOW HOW THIS SOUNDS) especially those like Turgon who were born in Valinor - and it... leaks through. This does also mean, incidentally, that they can perceive things in the spiritual world clearer than most, being as how they're kinda half there already.
(6) Elves are very light-footed - this does include the whole 'walk on snow' thing, but it also means that if an Elf doesn't want to be tracked, he or she won't be, unless it's by another elf - again I imagine some are better at this than others (Wood Elves like Legolas, for example, probably find Noldor like Turgon hilariously clumsy and easy to track). They are said in canon to be quieter than even the Hobbits when they walk.
(7) Elves can read minds. Sort of.
(8) Elves don't need sleep. Ok this is not entirely accurate, because they DO, they just... don't quite do it like other races do. They apparently have the ability to essentially create a waking dream-like state where they can walk and probably talk (although I wouldn't get them to, say, sew or anything needing fine motor control) while meditating on ~*beautiful things*~ and this is almost as good as sleep for them, allowing them to go days without actually needing shut-eye.
Specific abilities:
(9) Turgon is credited a great warrior, and in truth, Gondolin fell because they brought too many forces against it to stand against, not because any of them were bad warriors.
(10) I do like to think that he's a decent stoneworker.
